Maya 2020 reddit11/27/2023 So how do I get my PC to recognize that I do in fact have Maya installed still? Having to open Maya itself first instead of just clicking on my files themselves to open them directly is starting to really annoy me, lol. ![]() But of course I have Maya 2022 installed still, so if I run Maya itself, then I can open any file perfectly fine from within Maya and going to File>Open Scene. I had an issue where a windows update gave me a similar issue turns out that the windows update made something incompatible with maya without updating the graphics. I also don't have the option to open with Maya). I could suggest checking your graphics card/drivers. After successfully uninstalling Maya 2020, now if I try to open a Maya scene file from anywhere in my file explorer, my PC seems to think I don't have Maya installed and will ask how I want to open the file (if I try right click>open with. If it’s still noisy, you might try upping the camera sample by one as well. Today I decided to uninstall the 2020 version since I needed to free up space on my PC and only really use 2022 anyway. I would suggest upping specular and diffuse samples a little and seeing if that helps. ![]() This is a weird, kind of minor issue that I haven't been able to find an answer for by Googling so I was hoping someone could help here! Basically, I had both Maya 2020 and Maya 2022 installed on my computer.
